THE MASTER KEY SYSTEM

by CHARLES F. HAANEL

Pat's ommentary on the book:  Twenty-four lessons that will take you from where you are to where you want to be.  These lessons comprise some of the finest work I had ever read in the field of understanding what we are and why we are and who we are and where we want to be.  If you diligently take these lessons over a period of six months it is my belief you will have found the better path.  You will have reached a better place.

CREATIVE PROCESS IN THE INDIVIDUAL

by  THOMAS TROWARD

Pat's comment on this treatise:  One of the last writing efforts of Thomas Troward on this plane of existence.  Beautifully written in his elegant prose, I cannot add comment.  I simply put the Foreword here for your information and decision.  I’d be interested to know what your decision is.  Let me know.

FOREWORD
In the present volume I have endeavored to set before the reader the conception of a sequence of creative action commencing with the formation of the globe and culminating in a vista of infinite possibilities attainable by every one who follows up the right line for their unfoldment.

I have endeavored to show that, starting with certain incontrovertible scientific facts, all these things logically follow, and that therefore, however far these speculations may carry us beyond our past experience, they nowhere break the thread of an intelligible connection of cause and effect.

I do not, however, offer the suggestions here put forward in any other light than that of purely speculative reasoning; nevertheless, no advance in any direction can be made except by speculative reasoning going back to the first principles of things which we do know and thence deducing the conditions under which the same principles might be carried further and made to produce results hitherto unknown. It is to this method of thought that we owe all the advantages of civilization from matches and post-offices to motor-cars and aeroplanes, and we may therefore be encouraged to hope such speculations as the present may not be without their ultimate value. Relying on the maxim that Principle is not bound by Precedent we should not limit our expectations of the future; and if our speculations lead us to the conclusion that we have reached a point where we are not only able, but also required, by the law of our own being, to take a more active part in our personal evolution than heretofore, this discovery will afford us a new outlook upon life and widen our horizon with fresh interests and brightening hopes.

If the thoughts here suggested should help any reader to clear some mental obstacles from his path the writer will feel that he has not written to no purpose. Only each reader must think out these suggestions for himself. No writer or lecturer can convey an idea into the minds of his audience. He can only put it before them, and what they will make of it depends entirely upon themselves -- assimilation is a process which no one can carry out for us.

To the kindness of my readers on both sides of the Atlantic, and in Australia and New Zealand, I commend this little volume, not, indeed, without a deep sense of its many shortcomings, but at the same time encouraged by the generous indulgence extended to my previous books.

HOW TO PUT THE SUBCONSCIOUS MIND TO WORK

by  DAVID V. BUSH

Comment  by Pat:  The preface from the above-titled book states more clearly than can I just what has happened in the world of metaphysics.  It appears to be just what happened in the world of religion.  Is there an answer?  David Bush alludes to a solution.

He writes in his Preface:

The very great advance made in the science of mental healing during the last half of the nineteenth and the beginning of the twentieth century must be self-evident to the most superficial observer. However, both in conducting classes and in giving private counsel all authorities come sooner or later face to face with what I believe impresses every unprejudiced person in the line of mental healing, namely, the wide variety of cults and the large number of teachers and organizations, each one thinking he or it has discovered the one and only true method of mind healing. To my mind this condition is one of the biggest obstacles the whole movement of the power of the mind to heal has yet to overcome.   There can be no single person, no single organization which has sequestered all of the healing truth. To think otherwise is to be circumscribed by one's own narrow prejudices.  Anything is true that works. Call it what you may. Tabulate its manifestations in what fashion you will, designate it what you choose. It matters not what name you give it--if it works it is true.

On every side we see cults, organizations and teachers who claim they draw from the only fount of mental healing truth. This, alas, is reverting to type, going back to the prejudiced, bigoted, circumscribed methods of the dark ages.

That there may be made available to the public a set of books on mental healing which demonstrates the power of mind from every angle--showing that one method may be true for Smith, another for Jones, and a third for Brown-- is my object in presenting herewith various successful methods of healing. The desideratum, to my mind, in all healing, study and experience, is the development of a breadth of mind which will be nothing short of cosmic consciousness. In such a domain all will be able to worship at one shrine, enjoy peace of mind, fraternize with their fellows or commune with God in any manner they choose, free from the dictates of any powers that be, untrammeled by the chains of prejudice of their own or others' forging.

Never will the world come into a cosmic consciousness-- the fatherhood of God and the brotherhood of man—until we are willing to acknowledge the good which is to be found in realms other than our own -- whether it be in mental healing, in religion or in the life of practical experience.

Hence, in dealing with the power of mind to heal, the purpose of this series is to present, all told, some twenty- eight different methods of healing as operated by different cults, teachers, religions, organizations and psychological centers, all of which have proved variously successful as they have been employed to meet the needs of various individuals.

THOUGHT VIBRATION

by WILLIAM WALKER ATKINSON

Special comment by Pat:  If you think you are reading something from an online website of today, think again.  This is where all the writers of the current websites get their ideas and it all started in the New Thought Movement of the nineteenth century and the first half of the twentieth century.  William Walker Atkinson was born in 1862 and died in 1932.  He was an attorney as well as a metaphysician and was a pioneer in the New Thought movement in America.  Sometimes we might think that he wrote as Theron Q.  Dumont and at other times as Yogi Ramacharaka.  But as William Walker Atkinson he had no equal.

In this most excellent book he writes:

The Law of Attraction in the Thought World

The  Universe is governed by Law - one great Law. Its manifestations are multiform, but viewed from the Ultimate there is but one Law. We are familiar with some of its manifestations, but are almost totally ignorant of certain others. Still we are learning a little more every day - the veil is being gradually lifted.

We speak learnedly of the Law of Gravitation, but ignore that equally wonderful manifestation, THE LAW OF ATTRACTION IN THE THOUGHT WORLD. We are familiar with that wonderful manifestation of Law which draws and holds together the atoms of which matter is composed - we recognize the power of the law that attracts bodies to the earth, that holds the circling worlds in their places, but we close our eyes to the mighty law that draws to us the things we desire or fear, that makes or mars our lives.

When we come to see that Thought is a force - a manifestation of energy - having a magnet-like power of attraction, we will begin to understand the why and wherefore of many things that have heretofore seemed dark to us. There is no study that will so well repay the student for his time and trouble as the study of the workings of this mighty law of the world of Thought - the Law of Attraction.

YOU

by CHARLES F. HAANEL

What Pat thinks about it:  This is an amazing book about “you” that encompasses power, light, heat, sound, color, mind, life, and form and explains how each is vibratory.  Our laws of vibration talked about so much on the internet in this day and time probably got a good head start in the mind of Charles F. Haanel.  His works were not known for many years, but they have enjoyed a resurgence currently that is astounding.  You will find this intelligent man's thoughts quoted (without credit) throughout the current world of online gurus.

This book will surprise some of you since it talks about things that some “metaphysicians” say don’t belong in the realm of metaphysics.  But you must read this delightful book and make up your own mind.  I really liked it.  Let me know what you think.
