THE HINDU-YOGI SCIENCE OF BREATH

by  YOGI RAMACHARAKA

A wonderful gift of Project Gutenberg, the advice in this book is a pioneer to the breathing exercise yoga practices of today. It also includes other good advice in the science of living well. However, there is some question that Yogi Ramacharaka is who he says he is. We may never know for sure.  However, you may find a hint of his identity should you read all the books that are being gifted here on this website.  His identity may be uncovered with a little detective work.

As with all of the gifts of Project Gutenberg, this ancient tome may add immeasurably to your life. We have noted in many books of the time period of the New Thought spirituality that there is great emphasis placed on proper breathing to go right along with proper thinking. This book, you will find, has excellent advice contained throughout.

The good Yogi writes in one of his final chapters:   “The Oriental philosophies teach that man has many faculties which are at present in a dormant state, but which will become unfolded as the race progresses. They also teach that man, by the proper effort of  the will, aided by favorable conditions, may aid in the unfoldment of  these spiritual faculties, and develop them much sooner than in the  ordinary process of evolution. In other words, one may even now develop spiritual powers of consciousness which will not become the common property of the race until after long ages of gradual development under the law of evolution.”
